Twilight Education Project
Imagine
a place where every member of an immigrant family could come to learn English
and get the tools they need to succeed in our community. Imagine
a place that takes away every barrier to that valuable opportunity—transportation,
cost, childcare, and scheduling. That was the vision that inspired the Twilight
Education Project.
Family Resource Center
A
collaborative project of the City of Huntington Beach, the Children's Needs
Task Force, and others, the Family Resource Center offers free parenting
classes and health screenings for the members of Huntington Beach and neighboring
communities. The Resource Center opened in 2003 and is located at our Huntington
Beach Branch.
Orange County's United Way
Since
1924, Orange County’s United Way has been raising and distributing funds to
local funded organizations that effectively address critical human care issues
in the areas of Developing Children and Youth, Promoting Health, Increasing
Independence and Building Stronger Families. We have worked with United Way
on many projects.
OC Children & Families Commission
The experiences a child has with respect to parents and caregivers significantly
influence how a child will function in school and later in life. The Children
and Families Commission is designed to provide all children under five years
of age with a comprehensive, integrated system of early childhood development
services.
