School-Age Program Overview
At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley, we offer before
and after school child care and recreation programs to school age
children (ages 5+) enrolled in Kindergarten through High School (younger
children can attend one of our licensed
preschools in Huntington Beach).
Our high quality, adult-supervised
programs are operated at our two specially designed school-age facilities:
the Huntington
Beach Branch and the Fountain
Valley-Kingston Branch.
Hours of Operation
In addition to our normal before and after school program hours, we offer seasonal daycamps during Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks, and are open during most school holidays!

Program Information
Our school-age recreation centers offer adult supervised before and after school child care programs and activities under the guidelines of the California Department of Social Services. Children enrolled in kindergarten through high school are eligible to join our school-age centers. Younger children not meeting the age requirements may attend one of our licensed development preschools for ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten.
Kindergarten Program
The Kindergarten Program is designed especially for our younger members who are enrolled in Kindergarten. With specially designated rooms designed with the help of early childhood education specialists, children have fun doing activities like music, arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games and learning at play stations that encourage reading, writing, art, science, dramatic play, and more. While older kids are still at school, staff lead Kindergartners in activities throughout the Club, including the computer lab, games room, and teaching kitchen. We also provide homework assistance and other educational activities designed to prepare your child for first grade.
1st Grade & Up
Our daily schedule offers children many different activities to choose from, including activities in five core program areas. With so much to do, kids are constantly busy making new friends and having fun! Qualified recreation staff enthusiastically supervise activities while encouraging children to play fairly and safely. Our program differs from most with its diverse range of exciting activities including computer learning centers, sports, arts and crafts, cooking, indoor and outdoor games, relays, tournaments, contests, field trips, games room, special event days, and much, much more! Teen Program
Our teen program is designed especially for youth entering grades 6 and up. We plan special activities, community service projects, fun field trips and club events to help build friendships, leadership qualities, self esteem and just have fun! There are teen activities every day, and extended hours most Fridays until 8:00pm. Check the weekly calendars at the Club for special events.

Program Prices & Fees
Annual Membership
To participate in our programs, each child must be a current member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley. The annual membership fee is $15 and is valid from September through August each year.
Before School Program / Weekly Fees
Both school age facilities offer a morning program, which includes quiet games and activities. Participants attending serviced schools will be transported to their schools by Boys & Girls Club busses. Fees are $30 per week ($25 per week for additional children).
After School Full-Time Program / Weekly Fees
Weekly fees for our full-time after school program include transportation to our facility from numerous elementary and middle schools in the Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Garden Grove school districts. Fees for 1st Grade and up are $60 per week ($55 per week for additional children). Our extended Kindergarten program is $70 per week.
After School Part-Time Program / Weekly Fees
The Part Time program is designed for families wishing to use our after-school program 1 - 3 days per week. Specific days must be listed and can be changed with a small contract change fee. Additional days may be added, based on availability, each week for a fee of $16 per day. Part-time fees for our after school program also include transportation to our school-age center. Fees are: 1 day – $16; 2 days - $32; 3 days - $48
Full Day Program
Our full day program is provided for most school holidays and conference days. We also offer seasonal daycamps during Winter, Spring, and Summer breaks. The fee for our full day program is $25/day.
Payment Policies
Our program fees are billed weekly prior to the week of use, with no deductions for absences, vacations, or holidays. Children enrolled in our full-time after-school program are exempt from the full day program fee during school holidays, as well as winter and spring break. Some activities, such as sports leagues and field trips, are additional. For the full list of policies, please contact one of our school-age centers.
Transportation Information
Our weekly before and after school program includes transportation to and from 30 schools in the Fountain Valley, Huntington Beach, and Garden Grove school districts on our certified busses.
